We have been given an amazing blessing from the Lord. We had our prayers answered in ways that we had not imagined or asked for and we give all glory to God. This spring we were praying that we would be able to be in New York City again doing outreach and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Three weeks ago we got a call from Pastor Pat Necerato asking if we would pastor his church in New Jersey, The Great Commission Bible Church, while he is on furlough for three months. I could hardly keep my tears from falling. The church is about 1 1/2 hours form NYC and there are four families that have been diligently worshiping there for three years. What a blessing that we now have an opportunity to be in NYC and have housing and be able to pastor this church. So we are living in Perth Amboy, NJ which is 45 minutes from NYC. There are many ways to commute into the city for doing outreach. We can take the train, ferry, or drive our car.
Perth Amboy is largely hispanic and is a nice community. Families are seen together on the steps of their homes and people walk everywhere. We have a small apartment but it does have three bedrooms and they allow pets. So, our dog Daisy is welcome here. In the process of being in prayer, many people were asking us what our plans were for the summer and we would just have to say that we didn’t know yet, and that we were just waiting on the Lord. It is so wonderful to be in the position of just trusting. We trust Him for all our provisions and we know that all our needs will be met. At this point, we are praying to be on the road again in the fall. It is our prayer that we can share the Gospel all around the country on campuses, street corners and in churches. We hope to start off in Maine and from there continue to let the Lord show us where to go.
Some of the outreach we have been doing has been preaching on the Staten Island ferry. It is great for soul fishing. The people are generally good listeners and many times we get encouragement from them. They will often approach us to take tracts and bibles, and sometimes we get into some very good discussion on the differences of religions and why Christ is the only way. One night after preaching, several people clapped after I was finished. All praise be to God.
Union Square is again my favorite place to preach in the city. People from all over the world gather there to cool off from the heat, socialize, eat, and shop at the outdoor markets. We are seeing many of the same people as last year – both Christians and otherwise. What a great God we serve. We need more laborers though. Perhaps the Lord would put it on your heart to come to the city and do some evangelism. Maybe it could be used as a way to get out of your comfort zone so that when you go back home you would then have more boldness in sharing the Good News in love. I pray this is the case and somebody takes us up on this offer. One of our good sisters, Tiffany, is having an evangelism camp at the end of July and you could attend that. Our good friends who we sat in for last summer, Tom and Faith Kiser are also hosting groups again this summer at their home in New York City. Or perhaps you would like to join our brother in Christ, Tony Miano, at one of his evangelism camps in Los Angeles. Please contact us if you are interested in any of these opportunities and we will put you in touch…
“The chief danger of the Church today is that it is trying to get on the same side as the world, instead of turning the world upside down. Our Master expects us to accomplish results, even if they bring opposition and conflict. Anything is better than compromise, apathy, and paralysis. God give to us an intense cry for the old-time power of the Gospel and the Holy Ghost!” ~A.B. Simpson
We attended the Memorial Day parade in Millstone, NJ. The locals were lining the street waiting for the short parade to come by. We took the opportunity to share some Good News with the lost. “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Matthew 9:13 I preached for a while but the reception was quite cold and some people were angry. One man walked up to me while I was sharing the Gospel and was pushing and shoving me and cursing at me to stop. The men I was with and the authorities had to get the man to back off and calm down. The name of Jesus is offensive and gets people mad. Interestingly, during the ceremonies that followed there were prayers made by local clergy but not once was the name of Jesus mentioned. I believe these men are ashamed of the Gospel and fear man more than they fear God. Many men have gone to war for these freedoms that we have such an abundance of here in the United States. I thank God that we can share this great message of hope and forgiveness and trust and faith and joy and mercy here in this country. Oh the blood of Jesus. Oh the sacrifice of God’s only Son. Oh the payment for our crimes against a Holy God. May we wake up. May we open our eyes and see how kind God is. May we repent and put our trust in Jesus Christ, turning from our sins and bowing down to Christ as Lord of our lives. Religion won’t save us on that great and terrible day of when we will all give an account to God. Good works won’t save us. Only if you have been born again and have surrendered to the Lord Jesus Christ will you be saved.
Here is a quote from one of our brothers in the Lord,“The need for revival grows by the hour as lawlessness and iniquity abounds. To hope and desire for revival in the Church is not a false hope or unreality, saints! It is as sure as God’s promises are sure.“ ~Greg Gordon
Newark, NJ is a wonderful place for ministry. We are allowed to use amplification. We can crank up the volume on the street corners and we preach right next to the drug dealers and the prostitutes. One day when I was finished preaching, I was walking by and shaking hands and meeting people. One of the drug dealers asked me if I was a cop! It was almost funny. A preacher cop. I heard that Mark Cahill had actually met an undercover officer who was fronting as a preacher, so I guess anything is possible. Anyway, I thought it was a hoot. One day while I was preaching in Newark with Scott Smith (who came up from Florida with his wife Patte to preach with us for two weeks) a woman walked up to us and said that she had been a prostitute and a drug addict and was saved by Jesus Christ not only from hell, but from her lifestyle of sin. It was like a mini church service right there in the street. We were so happy and thankful for her encouraging words and we rejoiced. One day the Black Israelites were out preaching and William who is our son went right into the heat of the battle and began to go over Scripture with them. William is almost 14 years old but is very bold and knows his Bible well. He is good at apologetics and reasons with these types of men frequently. Newark is great for outreach and many people want to hear the Good News while waiting for their buses. One day, we also met a lady evangelist who was quite old. She was so excited to see men out preaching and witnessing. She works at the airport and when she has time on the way to work she comes downtown Newark and shares tracts and witnesses to people. She was such a blessing.
Many of you know that Robert Parker was arrested outside the Edison, NJ High School for preaching the Gospel a week or so ago. He was on public property obeying the law. The principal had made a false claim that Robert was trespassing by walking onto the campus lawn with one foot off the sidewalk onto the grassy lawn. Robert did not violate the law but the police took the word of the principal over the preacher. It’s Robert’s word against the principal’s. This is one reason why we try to video so much of what we do in this specific situation although the video camera was turned off
. There was no warning from police, just handcuffs and a free ride to the police department where he was finger printed and put in a cell. We do have footage of the principal coming unglued and being foul mouthed using all kinds of nasty four letter words around the students. The principal was representing the depravity of man while the Good News of Jesus Christ was being shared. I am guessing that the school board will be looking into this principal’s behavior and an investigation will be taking place.
The subways are a way that we get to and fro while in the city and we use it to preach to the small crowds. We can get a two or three minute message in and then go to the next car and share the Good News with them and so on. Sometimes we sing, sometimes we exhort, sometimes we share, but we always tell people about Jesus.
While Scott and Patte Smith were here we went to the abortion mill in Princeton, NJ. We had opportunities to share with the nurses and a couple of the mothers who were there to kill their babies. On the way back to our cars our friend Emily was able to speak with the abortionist himself. This is a rare opportunity. She shared how the Bible condemns murder and shared the love and forgiveness of Christ. She was the perfect person to share the truth with this man. She is so soft spoken and even has a testimony as to how she was going to abort her baby and ended up giving him up for adoption 14 years ago. Praise the Lord. Many young girls’ mothers march them right down to the murdering mill to kill their baby and seem to have no regret or remorse of such a murderous act. Many mothers would even claim that they know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour and still go trough with killing these innocent, helpless children. I was saying to someone the other day, that there are approximately 4,000 children murdered in the womb each day here in the United States. That is 50 million since 1973. Imagine if someone carried the four thousand dead babies and put them into one pile and allowed the world to witness this horrendous sight. I am guessing that it would make people horrified. Sin is like that in God’s eyes. He hates sin. We aren’t hiding anything from Him. He abhors the wicked and that’s us apart from Christ. Our sin is separating us from God and we need to tell the world that if they die in their sin they will suffer God’s wrath, forever in a place called HELL. And God does not want that. Brothers and sisters, we need to get the Gospel out to people. There are even people now that are saying that Christians are rejoicing in the murder of the murderous Dr. Tiller. I for one am not rejoicing in his murder. Christians do not rejoice for God does not rejoice… Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel. Ezekiel 33:11 Let us warn this world of the wrath that is to come and that God is merciful and loving, and willing to wash you clean. God punishes sin. God is trying to protect you by His Law. The Bible says that it is a tutor that brings us to the knowledge of sin. Occasionally people get angry at us because we use the law to evangelize. Then later I find out that there was sin in their life and they were trying to hide from God and they were found out. God sees every thought, hears every word, sees every deed done in the dark. You are exposed before God, always, and someday we will all stand naked before Him. Just saying sorry to God is not what God requires. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Psalm 51:17 Friend, if you are reading this and you are being convicted that you are a sinner and you have broken God’s moral law and in desperate need of forgiveness, then you need to turn from your sin and trust the Saviour Jesus Christ. He is the only way to be forgiven. Maybe you say I am not that bad, I have never murdered a baby in the womb. Well, perhaps you support those who do. Perhaps you are saying I am not that bad, I have always been a good person. Well if you say that, then you are deceived for the Bible says that NONE are good. The Bible is without error and is truly the Word of God. You say you don’t think it is God’s Word? Well then, you need to get saved from your errors and unbelief. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Revelation 21:8 We are not good, only God is good and He is commanding that you must repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Repentance is a turning from sin. Realize what God has done for you by sacrificing his only Son as the payment for your crimes against Him and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. God will actually give you a new life making you born again, Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Cor 5:17 The Bible says, As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly. Proverbs 26:11 Turn to Christ and turn from your sin! Please call or e.mail us if you need counseling regarding your salvation. Humble yourself before God and cry out to him in repentance and faith. The Bible says But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. James 4:6 Oh, all glory to God.
Thank you for your prayers. We are so thankful for the way that the body of Christ has come along side our ministry. If the Lord leads you to support us financially, then know that we are humbled by such offerings. We are also very encouraged by your e.mails to us and your posts in the comments area of this blog. Bless God. And remember to link Lisa’s notes that are at the top of the page…

Wishing you all the blessing from the Lord.
I saw you preach at Penn State a few days ago, and I’ll admit – at first I was very nervous. There are so many people out there who preach what they want to preach as opposed to what God would have them preach if only they listened to Him – and this is so dangerous in a world where the truth is getting harder and harder to find and people are growing colder and colder to the message. However, after actually listening to what (I think it was the son preacher that I saw?) had to say, I was glad to see so many people listening. I wish there had been less opposition – the opposing group spewed lies and I’m worried some passersby thought they were in the same group as you were (I did originally, before I had the chance to take a few minutes to figure out what was going on). Anyway, I just wanted to express my gladness, and my prayers will be with you that others’ hearts will soften to your message. I also want to say that that took a lot of courage. One other thing I do want to mention, however, is the evolution poster. I’m just worried that, whether or not it is true, the phrase “Evolution is a lie” is not exactly… what is the word… a phrase that will incline people to listen. It’s an unfortunate fact that there are some people (my father included) who completely turn away from something just because they don’t agree with one aspect of it. My advice (and please do not be offended, I know you have so much more experience, and I look up to you for all you’ve been doing) is that you focus on salvation and God’s love – the things that people want and need the most – instead of things that they don’t necessarily need to see at present. Salvation and God’s love (I believe) are more likely to attract the people (especially the scientists) and perhaps more important issues in terms of being saved.
E.g. If a seed gets too much water in the beginning – more than it can handle, it will die immediately. Better to water the seed gradually, and God’s sun (son) will do the rest? God bless you. I look up to your family. My prayers will be with you.
Also, about the abortion video…
I know that you care so much about protecting the innocent babies, and that is GREAT. However, on the same coin, one must be loving toward the ones getting the abortions – partly because they are the ones who MOST need to see the love. Also because they will not understand why what they are doing is wrong if they never SEE God’s love.
And when I say God’s love, I am not talking about the rules – I am talking about his unconditional love. The man who died on the cross next to Jesus lived a live of stealing – but Jesus loved him so much that he forgave him WHEN the man sought him. With that said, our goal is to give these humans a REASON to love him – they need to SEE his love in us. (What’s that verse? let god’s glory be manifest through us so that others might see – or something along those lines)
E.g. If the only life I have known is a life of being poor, a mother who beats me, etc – how will I know what love is? I will simply be just like her. However, if I am adopted (or my mother changes), and my new mother shows me what love is – THEN I can understand. THEN I have a role model that I can look up to.
God bless you.
I should clarify and say, the rules are important. But until they have accepted Jesus Christ and seen his love, they are not able to understand – it would be like preaching to a wall, unfortunately. I’m only saying this from experience. I’ve tried with my father, and in the process, I pushed him away. And some people will never even accept the love – we might as well move on, as Jesus did, to places where the message is heard, as I can see you are doing. More commonly, they will accept the love much sooner. After a long time in the love, we finally are able to understand why we must obey.
Sorry to fill your board up so much!
Once again, God bless you, and I hope that what I have said has served as an encouragement, and if I have offended you in any way, I am sorry, and I ask your forgiveness, and I still look up to your courage. (haha, AND your voice capacity – i do not know how you guys are able to speak so loudly for such a long time without losing wind! i can see God has blessed you much in this, enabling you for this ministry!)
Many Blessings to you !

Guys,
I’m a University of Vermont student. I’ve heard you preach for the past two years here on my campus and I really wish you would just stop. I pay $40K a year to attend this school and learn LOGIC, not to listen to your senseless, fork-tongued preaching. I have not seen you have any success here and since you don’t pay to attend this school I implore you to stop fooling yourselves and give up.
